HOW IT WORKS

Template, list, review

  1. 01

    Write the template

Put placeholders in curly braces, such as {firstName}, {company} or {news}. Keep the fixed text short.

  2. 02

    Paste the list

CSV with a header row whose names match your placeholders, then one row per person.

  3. 03

    Review every message

Fix anything flagged as too long or missing a value, then copy and send each message yourself.

REAL PERSONALIZATION

One real detail per person

A first name is not personalization. The column that matters holds one real detail about each person: a recent post, news about their company, or where you met. If you cannot fill that column for someone, they are probably not ready for a message yet.

Tips that work

  • Do give every person a column with one detail you actually found.
  • Do read each flagged message before you send anything.
  • Do keep the list small enough that you can research everyone on it.
  • Don't treat a bulk template as a reason to skip research.
  • Don't send a message that still shows {curly braces}.
  • Don't paste a list of people you have no reason to contact.

Splitting the writing from the research

Generic messages are easy to spot and easy to ignore. A message that mentions something specific gives the person a reason to reply. The catch is time: writing twenty messages from scratch takes an afternoon.

This tool splits the job in two. You write one good template, then spend your time finding one detail per person. The tool combines them. You get the speed of a template without sending the same words to everyone.

Setting up the CSV

The first line is a header with your placeholder names, like firstName, company, news. Each line after that is one person, with the values in the same order. If a value contains a comma, wrap it in double quotes. Most spreadsheet apps can export a sheet as CSV, which you can paste straight in.

Each message shows its character count against the limit you choose. Pick a connection note limit, 200 characters for a free account or 300 with Premium, and every message is checked against it. Any placeholder with no value is flagged, so nothing goes out with a gap in it. All of this happens in your browser; the list is never uploaded.

A worked example

Template: "Hi {firstName}, I saw {company} is {news}. I work with CS teams on onboarding. Open to swapping notes?" That is short, and the {news} column does the heavy lifting.

Row one, Dana at Northwind, hiring CSMs, produces a message that reads like you wrote it for her. Row two, Sam at Brightline with an empty news column, gets flagged. That flag is the useful part: it tells you that you have not found a reason to write to Sam yet.

Send each finished message by hand, one at a time, and read it before it goes. Tools that send messages automatically break LinkedIn's rules and it usually shows. Personal outreach at a human pace is what this is built for.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does this tool send messages on LinkedIn?

No. It only prepares the messages. You copy and send each one yourself; we never automate LinkedIn.

What format should my list be in?

CSV: a header row with placeholder names, then one row per person with values in the same order.

Is my list uploaded anywhere?

No. The list is processed in your browser and never leaves your device.

Can I use it for connection notes?

Yes. Choose the connection note limit for your account, 200 characters on free or 300 with Premium, and each message is checked against it.

What happens if a value is missing?

The placeholder stays in the message and it is flagged, so you can fill it before sending.

Can I download all messages?

Yes. "Download all as .txt" saves every message to a text file on your device.

How many people should be on one list?

As many as you can research properly. If the detail column starts to fill with filler, the list is too long.
